Samsung has officially begun rolling out its much-anticipated One UI 7 update, bringing Android 15 to a growing list of Galaxy devices.
Leading the charge is the Galaxy S23 series, which is now receiving the software upgrade, marking a significant leap forward in both functionality and design.
Galaxy S23 Series Gets First in Line
The update is currently available for the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra, starting with users in South Korea. Those who participated in the beta testing will receive a relatively small 900 MB update, while users on the stable version will need to download a heftier 5 GB package. This update also includes the April 2025 security patch, adding a layer of protection along with the visual and functional improvements.
Users can expect several enhancements, including:
- Galaxy AI integration
- Google Gemini access via long-press on the side key
- A smoother, more refined user interface
- Improved widget and folder customization
- A vertical-scrolling app drawer
- Updated designs across Samsung apps
S23 FE, S22 Series, and Foldables Next in Line
The Galaxy S23 FE has also started receiving the update in South Korea, with firmware version S711NKSU5CYDA. Other devices joining the rollout include the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, and the entire Galaxy S22 series (S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra). Although the update hasn’t yet reached users in the U.S. for these models, a global rollout is expected soon, especially given the faster pace Samsung has adopted recently.
For the S22 series, the update bears firmware version FYD9, while the Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 builds end in HYD9. As with the S23 line, these updates bring the same April 2025 security patch and a host of new features.
Samsung is aligning its software strategy with EU regulations, which mandate at least five years of software support. This means even older models like the Galaxy S21 series and foldables such as the Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 are set to receive the update in the near future.
How to Install
If you haven’t received a notification, you can manually check for the update:

Given that Android 16 is on the horizon, Samsung users are hoping for an even more efficient rollout next time. But for now, One UI 7 marks a major refresh that enhances the Galaxy experience across productivity, security, and personalization.
