Maverick Simulation Solutions has announced an investment of over ₹50 crore into its research and development division to expand innovation in medical and nursing training simulators. The funds will be used to enhance product development in key areas such as task trainers, high-end simulators, and CPR trainers. The company will also integrate artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and virtual reality technologies into its training tools.
The investment is intended to support the creation of new prototypes and to strengthen in-house capabilities across engineering, clinical integration, and content development. All research and development activities will be conducted in India, with testing and feedback from academic institutions.
Founded as a 3D scanning and printing services company, Maverick Simulation Solutions entered the medical simulation space in 2019. Its manufacturing operations for simulators began in 2021, with a focus on domestic production. The company collaborates with institutions such as AIIMS, DRDO, and various IITs, aiming to improve clinical training outcomes and reduce procedural errors through hands-on simulation tools.
Maverick’s range of simulators includes tools for injection training, breast examination, vascular access, airway management, and catheterisation. The company also produces advanced simulation platforms like LuSi and Test Chest. These tools are currently in use at several leading medical institutions across India, enabling students and instructors to practise procedures in a safe, controlled environment.
Anuj Chahal, Founder and CEO of Maverick Simulation Solutions, said, “The future of healthcare education depends on how well today’s students are trained for real clinical challenges. Our goal is to change how training is delivered. We are not only making tools but also making them accessible to institutions across India. With this R&D investment, we want to improve product design, introduce new technologies like AR and VR, and make training more realistic and repeatable. Our aim is to impact more than 250 institutions and reach ₹300 crore in revenue in the coming year. This is a step toward building strong foundations in healthcare learning.”
Maverick reported revenues exceeding ₹100 crore for FY 2024–25, reflecting increased adoption of simulation tools across medical institutions. The company’s expansion plan includes targeting institutions in rural and semi-urban areas to increase access to skill-based training.
Dr Sunil Tomar, Director at Maverick Simulation Solutions, said, “Simulation-based learning plays an important role in helping students gain clinical confidence. Tools like IV arms and airway management simulators are now a part of the training curriculum. These products help students enhance their motor skills & practice procedures multiple times before working with real patients. Access to such tools is becoming essential for medical education.”
With the latest R&D expansion, Maverick aims to meet growing demand for affordable, locally manufactured medical simulators. The company will continue to collaborate with academic partners to align product design with classroom and clinical training needs.
