

Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospitals has announced the launch of a new 300-bed multispecialty hospital in Thane, Mumbai, coinciding with the group’s 25th year of operations.
Located in Hiranandani Estate on Ghodbundar Road, the new facility aims to serve patients from Mumbai and the wider western region of India. KIMS Hospitals Thane will provide tertiary and quaternary care across more than 50 specialties.
“As we celebrate 25 years of providing medical advancement and services, the opening of our Mumbai facility begins another journey for KIMS as it connects advanced healthcare to the people of Maharashtra,” said Dr. B. Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director, KIMS Hospitals.
The Thane hospital is equipped with multiple advanced technologies. These include the Da Vinci XI Robotic Surgery System, Orthopaedic Joint Replacement Robot, 128-Slice CT Scanner, 3 Tesla MRI, Versa HD Radiotherapy, Flexitron Brachytherapy systems, PET-CT, and nuclear medicine infrastructure. The facility will also offer a dedicated Organ Transplant Program for complex procedures.
Departments at the hospital will include Cardiac Sciences, Oncological Sciences, Gastro Sciences, Neuro Sciences, Renal Sciences, Orthopaedics, Spine Surgery, Emergency Medicine, and Critical Care. Specialised services will also cover Pediatrics and Neonatology with NICU and PICU units, as well as women’s health and high-risk pregnancy management. Other offerings include Robotic Urological procedures, Pediatric Neurology, and Deep Brain Stimulation.
KIMS Hospitals currently operates the country’s largest solid organ transplant programme, India’s largest ECMO programme, and South Asia’s largest joint replacement programme. The group also runs one of the most extensive Heart and Lung transplant programmes in India.
With its Thane facility operational, KIMS Hospitals is set to continue expanding its presence in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Kerala.
