India’s wholesale price index (WPI) inflation eased to 0.39 per cent in May 2025 from 0.85 per cent in April, according to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
The marginal month-on-month decline of 0.06 per cent was driven by lower fuel and primary article prices.
However, inflation remained positive due to rising prices in food products, chemicals, electricity, and textiles, including apparel.
