The European Environment Agency report finds that scaling up renewables and electrification could cut EU variable electricity generation costs by up to 57 per cent by 2030, while enhancing energy independence and reducing reliance on imported gas.
Achieving this requires boosting renewable capacity, doubling grid flexibility, and coordinating infrastructure.
