She was at the wheel of her £30,000 blue motor when she set off a camera on Banbury Road, Oxford.
The Hermione Granger star, who was studying creative writing at the city’s university at the time, was charged by post and pleaded guilty on March 3.
But she ticked a box indicating she wished to have a full court hearing, which she may now choose to attend next Wednesday at High Wycombe magistrates’ court.
At the hearing, Ms Watson could try to mitigate the charges by claiming there were unique circumstances.
Her representatives were asked to comment.
Emma has fronted environmental campaigns for charities, including writing books for the COP26 eco conference.
Last week she was seen on a painting date with a mystery male in Oxford.
It is the latest car trouble for the star after she was filmed bargaining with tow-truck drivers when they hauled the Audi on to a flatbed in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwicks, in February last year.
She had blocked a car park and ignored a “No Parking” sign to visit a pub with mum Jacqueline.
It meant a pizza restaurant manager had his car trapped in by Watson’s motor for nearly four hours.
After a frantic dash around nearby restaurants and bars, he called cops.
He added: “But when the police started to tow her car away, she came flying out of the pub shouting, ‘That’s my car, that’s my car!’”
