Canada and India recently agreed to restore high commissioners to each other’s capitals and resume regular consular services as an initial step towards normalising frozen ties.
Both sides also decided to revive trade negotiations that had been paused.
The announcement came after a meeting yesterday between PMs Narendra Modi and Mark Carney on the sidelines of the G7 Leaders’ Summit in Canada.
