Researchers at Chalmers University have created a sustainable method to produce textile fibres from agricultural waste like wheat straw and oat husks.
Using a soda pulping process, it needs fewer chemicals than wood-based methods.
The technique also works with grass press-cake, offering potential to repurpose existing pulp-and-paper infrastructure for eco-friendly, cellulose-based textile production.
