Punjabi singer Ninja is making waves not only with his latest romantic track Heer but also with his carefully curated fashion choices that elevate the visual storytelling of the song. Styled by designer Rachit Khanna, the music video showcases three signature looks that reflect the emotional arc of the characters while blending cultural richness with modern aesthetics. What adds further depth to the styling is the use of completely original jewellery—each accessory seen in the video is authentic, with no artificial elements used.

Rachit Khanna, who has been designing costumes for over 15 years, was involved with Heer from its very inception—long before the song took its final shape. He shares that every character’s wardrobe was developed with a clear narrative in mind, rooted in their emotional depth and journey. For Ninja’s character, described as a poetic soul and a desert king in love with a nomadic woman, the styling follows a distinct arc, moving from vintage grandeur to modern grit.
Look 1: The modern raja in wine-hued power
In the first look, Ninja wears a Japanese Rochette wine-hued oversized jacket, featuring Khanna’s signature lion motif embroidered on the arms. Paired with matching wide-legged trousers, this silhouette represents the “modern raja”—a man who carries the weight of tradition with a bold, contemporary flair. Shot against a majestic palace backdrop under the night sky, the look feels powerful yet understated. The real gold hoops and layered chain subtly complement the outfit without overpowering it, keeping the focus on presence and personality.
Look 2: Regal blue elegance rooted in heritage
The second look captures vintage royalty. Designed in a royal blue jacquard weave with black threadwork, Ninja is seen in a long silk Anarkali kurta and pants, brought together with an intricately embroidered belt. The styling in this frame leans into classic Indian regal aesthetics, but with a clean, modern finish. Adding to its majesty is the layered jewellery—a choker and lion-head pendant—both original, which lend a ceremonial richness to the scene. The outfit reflects the mystic aura of his character, one deeply entwined with love and longing.
Look 3: Grit and grace in luxe ivory
In the final look, Ninja embraces a more grounded yet stylish identity. Wearing a silk charmeuse satin shirt with a few buttons undone, he pairs it with beige linen trousers, embodying a man who has evolved through his experiences. The accessories here play a crucial role in defining the attitude—real gold chains, a statement bracelet, rings, and a luxury wristwatch—all contributing to a vibe that is effortlessly sharp and street-smart. This look is a nod to Ninja’s essence: gritty, graceful, and grounded.
Speaking about the vision behind the designs, Rachit Khanna says, “Designing for Heer was an emotional and creative journey. We were involved from the very beginning, shaping each look to echo the characters’ inner worlds. For Ninja Paaji, we crafted two shades of his soul—one rooted in vintage royalty and the other steeped in modern grit. His character, a poetic desert king in love with a nomadic queen, demanded a visual narrative as powerful as the music. Every thread, every accessory—especially the original jewellery—was chosen to reflect authenticity and depth. What you see on screen isn’t just fashion—it’s storytelling in motion.”
The supporting characters, too, received detailed styling treatments. Shehnaaz’s look was designed to reflect the soul of a free-spirited nomad with Sufi charm. He was dressed in a handwoven blue Chanderi thread jacket layered over a striped kurta—an organic, textured look that reflected his earthy persona. Sushmita’s styling highlighted her transformation throughout the song. Her wardrobe featured a flowing blue silk charmeuse gown with a pink embroidered belt, a striking wine and gold gown to reflect inner strength, and a rust-orange georgette ensemble to capture love and royal elegance.
With Heer, Ninja doesn’t just sing about love, legacy, and longing—he wears it all. And through Rachit Khanna’s storytelling wardrobe, each look becomes a cinematic moment in itself.
