By Gossips Tv : The television industry has been rocked by a massive fraud case, where several prominent actors, including Ankita Lokhande, Tejasswi Prakash, and Arjun Bijlani, were scammed in an advertisement deal worth ₹1.32 crore. The accused lured celebrities into endorsing an energy drink with promises of lucrative payments, which never materialized.
The fraudster initially assured an advance payment of ₹10 lakh, even providing a fake receipt. Trusting the deal, a gathering in Dadar saw the participation of nearly 100 actors, out of which 25 were finalized for the ad. However, the payments, which were supposed to be cleared within 35 days, never arrived.
In an attempt to gain credibility, the accused sent an image of a ₹15 lakh cheque, falsely assuring that the amount would be credited soon. When cheques of ₹2 lakh and ₹90,000 were given to the artists, both bounced. More cheques, including ₹6.5 lakh for Tejasswi Prakash and ₹1.25 lakh for Adrija Roy, also failed.
By October 18, 2024, the fraud had escalated, with bounced cheques totaling ₹80 lakh. Victims have now lodged complaints with the Chembur police, seeking justice. The scam has sent shockwaves through the television industry, leaving many actors financially affected.
