The actor revealed that the film’s director, Shaad Ali had been his childhood friend. One day, the latter called up Vivek and told him that he had something to show him. It was a tape of the Tamil film, Alaipayuthey. Shaad then announced that he was remaking the movie and thought Vivek would be the perfect fit for the role of ‘Maddy.’
