Ujala Cygnus Hospitals received a donation of 70 hospital beds from Vijay Kumar Arora and Dr Saurabh Arora to support its facilities in tier 2 and tier 3 cities across India. The handover ceremony took place in Delhi, marking the family’s support for the healthcare provider’s ongoing efforts to improve medical access in underserved areas.
The contribution aims to address infrastructural shortages in India’s smaller cities and rural regions, where uneven distribution of healthcare services continues to present challenges. According to Ujala Cygnus, the additional beds will expand emergency, intensive care, and post-operative capacity across key hospitals in the network.
“This support will directly impact our ability to care for patients more efficiently, reduce waiting times, and ensure safer recovery environments,” said Dr Shuchin Bajaj, Founder and Director of Ujala Cygnus Healthcare Services. “I have always believed real change begins with individuals, not institutions. The generosity shown by the Arora family is a strong reminder that making a meaningful impact doesn’t require vast resources or big foundations—just empathy, clear intent, and the willingness to take action. At Ujala Cygnus, our mission is rooted in the belief that healthcare is a basic right, not a privilege.”
Ujala Cygnus operates with a focus on bridging the healthcare gap between urban centres and remote areas, aiming to deliver affordable medical services outside metropolitan regions. The donation supports the organisation’s continued efforts to meet rising demand for hospital infrastructure in smaller cities.
