Medicover Hospitals, Navi Mumbai, has launched a dedicated Women and Child Wing featuring a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The facility was introduced on 30 June through an open house visit, offering a preview of the infrastructure designed to provide continuous care for mothers and newborns.
The wing integrates services across antenatal, labour, delivery, and postnatal stages, and includes 24/7 access to neonatology and paediatric critical care support.
Dr Kalpana Gupta, Senior Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Medicover Hospitals, said, “During complicated cases, timely and advanced care becomes life-saving. A Level III NICU provides specialised support for critically ill or premature babies with around-the-clock monitoring and expert care. With the launch of this dedicated Women & Child Wing, the goal is to ensure both mothers and newborns receive the care they need under one roof, from pregnancy through recovery.”
Dr Anuranjita Pallavi, Consultant Gynaecologist and Infertility Specialist, highlighted the clinical framework in place. “Newborns, especially those born prematurely or with complications, need very specialised care. Our Cluster 3 NICU facility consists of advanced monitoring, ventilation, and life-support systems tailored to each baby’s needs. What makes this unit special is not just the technology but the dedicated team of neonatologists, nurses, and pediatric intensivists, who work around the clock to provide personalised and family-centered care.”
The facility also places an emphasis on parental engagement during the neonatal period. Dr Tanmesh Kumar Sahu, Consultant Neonatologist and NICU In-Charge, said, “We also focus on educating parents during this emotionally challenging time, so they feel involved and empowered throughout the journey. The facility also offers specialised antenatal and postnatal care for smooth and safe pregnancy.”
Neeraj Lal, Regional Director for the Maharashtra and Karnataka Region at Medicover Hospitals, said, “This launch is our commitment to delivering complete and compassionate care to women and children. From antenatal counseling and gynecological care to critical neonatal support, our team is here to guide families every step of the way. We are proud to introduce a service that combines world-class infrastructure with the warmth and empathy every mother and child deserves.”
