Zen Multispeciality Hospital has announced the launch of Zen Annexe, a 100-bed facility in Chembur dedicated to urology and kidney care. The new centre was inaugurated in the presence of Dr Roy Patankar, Founder and Director of Zen Multispeciality Hospital, alongside the hospital’s team of doctors and healthcare professionals.
The facility is aimed at addressing the growing burden of urological and renal conditions in India. Zen Annexe includes four operating theatres for minimally invasive and robotic surgeries, a 14-bed ICU with isolation units, and five dialysis beds. The centre is also developing a renal transplant programme and is supported by diagnostic and imaging systems, urodynamic testing, and services in specialised female urology.
“Zen Annexe represents our vision of accessible, world-class healthcare in urology and renal medicine,“ said Dr Roy Patankar, Founder and Director of Zen Multispeciality Hospital. “This new centre, along with our upcoming Cardiac Institute by 2026, is making Zen a comprehensive hub of multispeciality care in North Mumbai and beyond.”
The launch comes as India faces a rise in kidney and urinary diseases. A study published in Nephrology notes that chronic kidney disease (CKD) prevalence has reached 16.38 per cent among individuals aged 15 and above, with rural communities experiencing higher impact. Zen Annexe is designed to offer continuity of care from diagnosis through treatment, including dialysis and transplant services.
